Moon Garden
We stopped on the arched bridge that stood above the marsh near the far corner of the yard. On the hill to the right and behind us stood a tall statue of St. Francis of Isisis. He was my father’s Catholic patron saint. My father was quiet fort a few moments which led me to believe that he was praying, for he always did so on this bridge. To the right and in front of the bridge was the moon garden, and noticing that the sky was getting lighter we knew the time we had been waiting for was at hand. German Chamomile was placed around the entire perimeter of the sphere. The flowers were yellow in the center with white petals, and the apple like aroma alone could put you to sleep. These plants didn’t need the moon to open their flowers but it was necessary nonetheless. Placed inside the German Chamomile plant was the Shasta Daisy. Those plants stood above all the rest, and like the Chamomile the flower was yellow and white, and bloomed all day. The Evening Primrose plants were placed just inside the daisies, and their blossoms unfurled every evening and closed their petals in the early morning. Their shiny yellow petals exude a most tantalizing perfume like no other plant. As the full moon rose above the tree line we watched in amazement at the blossoming flowers. Near the center area grew the Deadly Daturas.

Snow Cave
The sun was slowly disappearing through the clouds leaving a beautiful fan of rays shimmering down upon the skyline. We made it. We could see the valleys below us, the towns in which we lived looked like the lines in our hands, and as big. We rested there for a while, watching the sun hide behind the clouds, planning our strategy on which way to go next. We descended down the hill for a while looking for a good spot to camp. I loved the mountains, the smell of pine, wet wood, and the enchanting sound of the quaking aspen speaking to the animals that surround them. We lost track of time admiring nature’s beauty. Realizing now that we didn’t have much time left before dusk showed up, an hour or two at the most before it was really dark, we needed to find a place to camp, and fast. We were wet, our pants were frozen to our boots, and the wind began to pick up a lot now. We needed to find a place that was out of the wind and snow. The only choice we figured could work best would be to find a cave, a snow cave, and we were standing on top of it.

Drunks
I always forgot that rule when it came to my turn. I ended up having six double slams. This is where the party started to get a little fuzzy. After a bottle of vodka and lots of tequila I started to believe that I was the life of the party. The party went from the pit to the canopy and then to the swimming pool. Every one was skinny dipping; even the fat, ugly, old man. Once it looked like an orgy was about to happen I left with a friend. Throwing up on main street was the last thing that I remember about that night. Six hours later I woke up lying naked in the middle of the desert near Moab, Ut. I was totally dehydrated and sun burned. I asked my so called friend if she knew where we were, or where my clothes were, and if we had any water? She said we were in Moab, and what clothes she could find of mine where in my jeep, and that there was nothing to drink. I found all my clothes except my underwear, and they were probably in someone’s glove box. That was the last time that I ever drank, and hopefully the last. Brenda smiled at me, and then sat down. The councilor acknowledged the very personal accounts and the great efforts given by those who attended the session and called for a break.

Fatherhood
When I was seven I decided that I wanted to be a father. It was then (without full understanding) that I learned that my father was no longer living with me. I spent many times in my mother’s arms, as we both found comfort in our loss. I loved my father very much, even more when I got to see him on occasional weekends.

Scared as the Ghost
He was ten and a tough guy, sacred of nothing, until one night. She was dressed in her long white pajamas. My little sister was in the basement getting something from the freezer when it happened. She was humming a song, like she usually did. It was dark when my brother went downstairs that night.

The Color Code
Starting from the beginning of life, one’s personality is their own, and how we deal with these feelings as it applies to each and every one that we are in contact with, including ourselves, takes us the rest of our lives. When each of us are created, our genetics are given to us from others, including the color of our eyes, hair, skin, and our physical features. Some people say that other traits are also given to us like emotions and the things that make up our character. The personality that each of us has, comes from our life experiences that builds up to who we are. Through the history of time, people have tried to determine what makes us “tick”, hoping then to realize the inner truths that makes us do what we do. By using the natural elements that make up the world that we live in, (fire, earth, water, and air) mankind has tried to discover who we are in relation to each other, in the same way that each of earths elements “live” together. Well, in doing that we are trying to understand our emotions so that we can learn how “cope” within each of those situations. Most importantly; only by being true to our feelings, can we discover our true colors. After taking the test I discovered for myself the color that makes up my character, and how true it “rang” my senses!
I’m a Dominant white with blue motives of behavior. What does that mean? Behavior is determined by our wants and needs, it is our innermost reason for doing what we do, and is the principle means of discovering the motives that make up the colors

The Pick up
There was a big gathering of relatives, a family reunion one might say, happening at my dad’s house one day. There were frequent trips to the airport made by me and my brother, as relatives kept arriving from around the U.S. One of my cousins called from the airport needing a ride to the house, but both my brother and I were already on the road, so my Aunt Francis insisted that she would pick him up. That idea of course worried everyone, for we all knew Aunt Francis was not playing with a full deck, if you know what I mean.

Chillin' with the Bates
Growing up in a small town as a teenager was a struggle. But then again just being a teenager was tough. The town I lived in did not have much for kids to do, in fact it had nothing. Both movie theatres had gotten burned down, and the arcade was vandalized, then shut down. Finding something to do, or somewhere to go took great imagination. My friends and I with our demented imagination took us to the graveyard every Friday and Saturday night to visit the Bates.

Second Grade...In The Beginning
It’s a warm august morning and the clouds are slowly drifting by, high above the skyline, as if in synch with the birds flying about, while a slight breeze gently brushes the ‘quakies’ just outside the window that you are looking out. Moms and dads are walking up the way with their little ones, children are playing in the courtyard, and it is the first day of school at fiction elementary. The kids for the most part are excited. They seem restless but that comes natural, for they been out of school for three months. Most of the faces are familiar ones, and you can tell which children are new to the school, for they are the quiet ones, closely connected at the hip to their guardians. The first day goes by fast, getting your classroom organized by way of role, seating arrangements, classroom curriculum, and most importantly the rules. As the children arrive, hanging their things in the designated area, with the help of their parents or themselves, you hand them a labeled sticker with their names on it, and guide them to take a seat. Once the second bell has rang, you instruct the children to quiet down, and begin your journey into the school year.....
No matter what the weather will bring in months to come, or whether or not the birds would moved south for awhile, the ‘quakies’ would always be there, just beyond your reflection in the window just outside your classroom, as moms and dads would keep seeing their children to school safely each day, you are satisfied.

Mystery Men
In the beginning of the story the “Mystery Men” then without a name for their group seemed to be more of a symbolic convergence type group, whereas the group had the fantasy about being great superheroes to the city, in their mind they were great but in reality they were not. Their group was dysfunctional in that even though they had certain goals “to be the most famous superheroes in the limelight” they were not. To be a successful team they must abide by the guidelines that make up a “team”.......
In the end, the team finally got the recognition that they were missing to fulfill the gap that was failing them in the beginning, of course they had to eliminate the cause for their initial lack thereof. Everything happens for a reason. Along the way they met a few friends and became an organized team, (although still symbolically converged). And the icing on top of the cake is that they finally had a name.

Social Learning Theory
Giving effective praise to the children when they are quiet, as often as it happens is a step towards cleaning up the noisy times. Token reinforcers are a hands on approach to effective praise, for when the students can be quiet after recess. Positive reinforcers towards the solution to the problem can be achieved I think in that you “Give” the children effective praise and rewards for being quiet after recess, or in the event of that not workings then you “Remove” some of the children’s activities, or rewards already earned by them, ect. Maybe in the future, next year, or next semester, you can inform the children (if it’s next semester) that class activities that follow recess will change (but not to inform them that it may be due the children’s lack of good behavior.) Or just keep in mind the way that the children have behaved during that time and work into your schedule staring next year, an activity that will correspond to the after recess “pumped up kids”

Adlerian Theory
Problem: Your eleven year old is feeling discouraged because he wasn’t invited to a friends birthday party. To make matters worse, no one at home had the time to talk to him about how he was feeling. So he found a short piece of rubber hose and whacked through your flower bed and rose bushes, and even went after the neighbor’s cat.
Solution: First off , it sounds to me like the child’s behavior falls into the Adlerian misbehavior goal of “counter hurt (making somebody pay for his pain), revenge (aimed at parents), power with vengeance (to all).”

Rogerian Theory "I own the problem"
Problem: Your children ages 10,12, and 15 are always eating in the family room while watching TV. Although you don’t mind the eating, you do mind that they leave empty glasses, bowls, wrappers, ect., all over the room. You’ve scolded and reminded but it continues. You are not quit sure if it is caused by all or just one or two of the children.
Solution: When looking to resolve this problem, using the Rogerian theory, we must then conclude from this that for this case the ‘parent ‘ owns the problem. And we then can work through this problem using the methods described in the Rogerian theory.

Rogerian Theory "The child owns the problem"
Problem: You overhear your two sons, ages 7 and 9 fighting in the other room. When you go to check on what is wrong you see that the younger boy is crying, and the older boy has disappeared. On the floor is a new truck, which has been broken. What do you do?
Solution: Try to remember in a situation like this, the best thing to do is to keep cool, and don’t jump to any conclusions about who is in the right or wrong. It may first seem to appear that the older boy has done something wrong to the younger brother, or maybe the older brother hit his brother than broke his toy and then ran away, or maybe the younger brother wanted his way with something and broke his own toy becoming upset with himself and crying. Many things could be taken from this scene, but even any of those events may not be the case. Tread those waters carefully.
